Fall/Halloween 2018 Preview – Target

If you weren’t already aware, both Tina and I are both pretty big fans of Halloween. I’m absolutely that girl who daydreams about fake cobwebs and oodles of pumpkins when it’s 90 degrees and humid out. You know, like normal people do. Anyways, it should come as no surprise that I already have Halloween on the brain and am all about checking to see what this year has in store for some spooky decor. Earlier this week, Tina shared her picks from the Halloween release at Pier One. Today, I’m sharing my favorites from the Target Halloween collection.

5 ct Halloween Pumpkin Pathway Marker Lights – Hyde and Eek! Boutique™/5 ct Incandescent Halloween Clear Ghost Pathway Lights – Hyde and Eek! Boutique™

These pumpkin lights (or their ghastly counterpart) would look absolutely adorable on any pathway or bewitching garden!

Worlds I’d like to see in Kingdom Hearts 3

With the news of Kingdom Hearts 3 being released in January 2019, it got me to thinking of what I’d like to see brought to one of my favorite game series. I’m currently replaying my way through the first game and it’s easy for me to fall in love all over again with the perfect fusion of the Disney universe and the Final Fantasy lineage. It honestly just feeds my geekdom because there are layers of things to nerd out about in a way that’s unique in the world of video games. I’ve been a big Disney fan since I was a young Warthog in the early 90s (When the best Disney films were made). Couple that with being a video game lover and it’s a perfect nerdy marriage. Here are the worlds that I’d like to see brought to Kingdom Hearts!!

Star Wars

The massive Disney empire now owns the rights to Lucasfilm for the cool tune of about 4 billion dollars after their 2012 purchase and has since added Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to both Disney parks. With the continuation of the Star Wars storylines, I think an abridged Star Wars world could make compelling gameplay for Kingdom Hearts and Star Wars lovers alike. Would it be hard to condense such an expansive storyline featured in the Star Wars universe? Yes of course, but picture this – Sora, Donald, and Goofy adorned in Star Wars inspired costumes. In similar fashion to the Deep Jungle Tarzan world, the world could allow the player to select between a character (perhaps a longstanding character such as Luke Skywalker) or Goofy and Donald. The Heartless could be stylized to fight alongside Stormtroopers perhaps with a minor boss battle with Darth Vader or another Sith character. The options for a Star Wars level are numerous and I think if done well that it could provide something for nerds like me to really oogle over.

My Funko Pop Wishlist

The Funko Pop fandom has exploded recently and you can add both Tina and me to the ranks. Initially, I thought they were very cool, but I wasn’t sure about collecting them. Now that I’ve seen more of what is out there, I can definitely say that’s changed! There are so many cool things about Funko Pops and the sheer amount of Funko Pops that exist astounds me and overwhelms me (Seriously, you could do a real number on your bank account snatching these bad boys up). And like I said, there are so many that I keep learning about Funko Pops existing for different fandoms that my wish list seems to never stop growing! Hunting for Funko Pops whether in stores or online can often feel like the coolest and nerdiest treasure hunting experience ever (don’t even get me started on snagging those exclusive Funko Pops or the ones that have been vaulted Disney-style)! I currently have a few, but I definitely want to add on and literally display my nerdiness on a shelf. Here are some of the Funko Pops we have on our wishlist that may make you want to run and grab them yourself!

Funko Pop TV Saturday Night Live Stefon

Funko’s hottest pop is the SNL Stefon! This Funko Pop has everything – from his signature hair, ring collection, and iconic Ed Hardy shirt. If you’re a Stefon fan like me, you’ll want to add this spicy Pop to your collection today!

Games To Play: CodyCross – REVIEW

I was hanging out with a friend when I first heard about this game CodyCross. I could hear the noises from it and was curious to see what game he was playing. He then showed me his phone screen and I was mystified as I was admittedly a little surprised that he’d opt for a puzzle game but also definitely intrigued to try my hand at another puzzle game!! I’m always down for a puzzle game (save for Words With Friends for which I have a love-hate relationship as it has evolved into Words with Frenemies) so when I saw him playing CodyCross, I quickly hopped onto the Apple App Store and snagged this free game!! It is worth saying here that the game is also available for free on Android devices should you not be on Team Apple.

My Sims 4 Building Wishlist

With the announcement that Simmers can expect glass roofs in the next game patch, it got me to thinking about some of the other build tools and objects I would like to see come to the game. I’ve been a simmer since the inaugural game The Sims and I am impressed so far with the progress made in The Sims 4, but I am hopeful to see some of my favorite architectural techniques added to the game. I personally love building in the game because it provides me a chance to build my dream house (You know, without having to win the lottery and all that). Here are some building aspects I would absolutely jump for joy over if added to The Sims 4.

14 Things I Wish I Knew Before College

It’s been almost two weeks since I graced the stage and officially became a college graduate. It still feels unreal to me, but I’m absolutely excited for the next chapter!! Whether you may be looking to start at your local community college or at your choice of four-year universities across the country, navigating the collegiate waters can sometimes be daunting (Take it from this gal who was once a high school senior terrified at the idea of college as if it were an academic Godzilla).

Trust me – it definitely is a million times easier once you get the lay of the land. Here are some things that I wish I knew going into college that will make it smooth(er) sailing for you:

10 Reasons To Love BBC’s Sherlock

Although I was a little late to check out Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ Sherlock, it didn’t take much time for me to become part of the show’s worldwide fandom. When I decided to check out the first episode on Netflix a few years back, I remember being struck with the visuals in the first episode, “A Study in Pink” (A riff off the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story “A Study in Scarlet”). Four series later, I am so glad that I did. It has made me anxious during episodes, but it has also given me so much joy and laughter. Here are ten reasons to love the Moffat-Gatiss brainchild*:

*Caution there may be spoilers ahead
