Lights, camera, action!! The latest expansion pack for The Sims 4 dropped yesterday with Get Famous and it’s packing all the star power. The expansion pack brings fame and glory to our Sims as they are introduced to the magical realm of celebrity and the entertainment industry. While there is certainly glitz and glamour with the new gameplay possibilities, one of the real stars for me is the newest content in Create-A-Sim and Build/Buy mode.
The new clothing and accessory options are stunning for their amount of detail and gorgeous color swatches and patterns in both modern fashion pieces and in pieces that seem to be vintage-inspired (the dream of the 90s is alive in Get Famous). While a lot of the pieces connect to film genres (most notably western), the clothing brilliantly represents the shimmer and shine of Old Hollywood fashions fit for your Audreys and Marilyns while also providing options for your non-thespian Sims. The accessories and hats aren’t too shabby either with hat options that pair with over-the-ear headphones along with some themed hat options, accessories such as a shiny new wristwatch, necklace, and pair of earrings.
The options in build/buy mode presented in Get Famous is a blend of a sort of gilded series of pieces that give me Rococo vibes and Mid-Century pieces that continue where The Sims 4 Bowling Night Stuff started. I’m going to be honest – I absolutely LOVE Mid-Century architecture and furniture so when I saw the latest pieces from this pack, I was in love. I don’t personally see myself using too much of the Rococo-style pieces (although it would be perfect for a castle build with those fancy new texture tools), but that’s not to say they aren’t incredible!! One of my absolute favorite pieces from this expansion hands-down would be the new GrammyPhone Radiogram Mid-Century stereo cabinet. I’ve been hoping for a better stereo so when I spotted this new stereo in action as the vinyl record spun, my heart was over the moon in love (seriously, thank you Sim Gurus)!! The build mode objects we were given are equally awesome with the adorable selection of Quaint Cottage Sash Windows and Stable As A Brick Column (the brick column of my building dreams).
Overall, The Sims 4 Get Famous gets on the A-List for its gorgeous new clothes and objects alone. And that’s not even including the outrageous new gameplay that your Sims can now indulge in as they become the stars of stage and screen! You can snag the latest expansion pack with The Sims 4 Get Famous today in the Origin app or here. Are you a fan of this star-studded expansion pack? Let us know your thoughts on Get Famous below!!
This summer, the library system in my county has been running a reading passport contest where people are encouraged to visit the various library branches around the county in order to potentially win prizes. I have knocked a few of the branches off the list and in the process, I’ve enjoyed the architecture of the different buildings I’ve visited. It doesn’t take much for my mind to wander into thinking of ideas for The Sims – it pretty much happens whenever I leave the house. I decided to challenge myself into making a library, but not just any kind of library… a TREEHOUSE library!
One of my favorite types of constructions are treehouses – I used to dream about having one as a kid and I love the Animal Planet show Treehouse Masters with treehouse aficionado Pete Nelson so I thought I would combine my love of treehouses and my make the ultimate library.
I opted to place it in Brindleton Bay because it fits the cozy aesthetic that I get from the town as a whole. The lot that it is on is the 40×30-sized Tail’s End lot originally labeled as residential located in the Whiskerman’s Wharf not far from the Brindleton Bay docks. It really provides a stellar view of the water and the nearby docks while the treeline, especially with the addition of Seasons, makes it really pop!
Okay, no more rambling, let’s just get to the build, shall we??

With the news of Kingdom Hearts 3 being released in January 2019, it got me to thinking of what I’d like to see brought to one of my favorite game series. I’m currently replaying my way through the first game and it’s easy for me to fall in love all over again with the perfect fusion of the Disney universe and the Final Fantasy lineage. It honestly just feeds my geekdom because there are layers of things to nerd out about in a way that’s unique in the world of video games. I’ve been a big Disney fan since I was a young Warthog in the early 90s (When the best Disney films were made). Couple that with being a video game lover and it’s a perfect nerdy marriage. Here are the worlds that I’d like to see brought to Kingdom Hearts!!
The massive Disney empire now owns the rights to Lucasfilm for the cool tune of about 4 billion dollars after their 2012 purchase and has since added Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to both Disney parks. With the continuation of the Star Wars storylines, I think an abridged Star Wars world could make compelling gameplay for Kingdom Hearts and Star Wars lovers alike. Would it be hard to condense such an expansive storyline featured in the Star Wars universe? Yes of course, but picture this – Sora, Donald, and Goofy adorned in Star Wars inspired costumes. In similar fashion to the Deep Jungle Tarzan world, the world could allow the player to select between a character (perhaps a longstanding character such as Luke Skywalker) or Goofy and Donald. The Heartless could be stylized to fight alongside Stormtroopers perhaps with a minor boss battle with Darth Vader or another Sith character. The options for a Star Wars level are numerous and I think if done well that it could provide something for nerds like me to really oogle over.

Holy crap – it’s finally here!! I honestly can’t believe that we finally have seasons for The Sims 4!! We wrote a post about Seasons when we first heard that we were getting it, but today’s post is going to be so much better. Why? BECAUSE WE HAVE PLAYED IT!!
Now we’re gonna be honest here – we had the best of intentions and initially wanted to get this post out into the world WAY sooner than this. However, this game is just massive compared to other expansions and we felt that we really needed to give it a good play period before giving you our thoughts. Unfortunately, there are also a good deal of glitches, and we’d be lying if we didn’t acknowledge them or how they delayed our reviews as well. Both Melissa and myself lost games and had issues that led to us starting all over again (a few times), so there are definitely some hiccups. It was important to us that we experience all four seasons before writing this too because otherwise, that just wouldn’t make any sense! So now that we’ve justified the delay in this post (to ourselves more than anything), lets get into it!

I was hanging out with a friend when I first heard about this game CodyCross. I could hear the noises from it and was curious to see what game he was playing. He then showed me his phone screen and I was mystified as I was admittedly a little surprised that he’d opt for a puzzle game but also definitely intrigued to try my hand at another puzzle game!! I’m always down for a puzzle game (save for Words With Friends for which I have a love-hate relationship as it has evolved into Words with Frenemies) so when I saw him playing CodyCross, I quickly hopped onto the Apple App Store and snagged this free game!! It is worth saying here that the game is also available for free on Android devices should you not be on Team Apple.

With the announcement that Simmers can expect glass roofs in the next game patch, it got me to thinking about some of the other build tools and objects I would like to see come to the game. I’ve been a simmer since the inaugural game The Sims and I am impressed so far with the progress made in The Sims 4, but I am hopeful to see some of my favorite architectural techniques added to the game. I personally love building in the game because it provides me a chance to build my dream house (You know, without having to win the lottery and all that). Here are some building aspects I would absolutely jump for joy over if added to The Sims 4.

Personally, I really enjoy board games. I’ll admit that sometimes its difficult to gather up enough willing participants though. Perhaps it feels too much like a slow and antiquated activity to some. Perhaps that’s part of the appeal to others?
I had purchased Ticket To Ride about a year ago but unfortunately it ended up sitting on the shelf unloved for about that much time. I purchased it for my sister, who is a bit of a geek when it comes to trains. Think Sheldon Cooper with a little less severity. We finally busted it out yesterday, and while I’m aware that its a game with PLENTY of reviews, we decided to share our thoughts on the game as well.
